Nigerian states to get $2.5 million grant from World Bank to mitigate coronavirus impact

The World Bank will by September 30, reward states with $2.5 million each in performance-based grants if they implement, tax relief programmes for individuals and business owners as part of efforts to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State on Monday, July 27th signed into law, the revised appropriation bill of N114.9 billion for the year 2020. The budget themed, ‘‘Accelerating Infrastructural Development and Youth Entrepreneurship’’ has a total reduction of N22.2bn from the original budget of N137.1bn, translating to a 16 per cent reduction.
