Ecuador court decriminalizes abortion in rape cases

Ecuador’s Constitutional Court on Wednesday decriminalized abortion in cases of rape, the country’s human rights ombudsman announced, a major step in Catholic-majority Latin America where termination of pregnancy is largely taboo.
