FCT: Police arrest 17 suspects for cultism

The Police Command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has arrested 17 suspects over cultism along Gwagwalada, Gwagwa, Lugbe and Kurudma axis of the territory.
“At this moment, l cannot say how many students were taken away by the gunmen until l get there, but we have already mobilized security men and members of the vigilantatè who are now in pursuit of the abductors,” the commissioner stated.

Philippines deploys air force as tensions over Chinese ships rise

The Philippines’ air force has been conducting daily aerial patrols over Chinese fishing vessels parked near a disputed reef, the country’s defence chief said, as he repeated a call to Beijing for their withdrawal from their area.

The soldiers also arrested four cultists, recovered several arms and ammunition and rescued three kidnapped persons during the operations conducted between January 7 and 14, DHQ announced on Wednesday.
