EU intervenes on Brexit deal on eve of UK vote

Prime Minister Theresa May on Monday published further assurances from the EU on the eve of a crucial parliamentary vote on her Brexit deal, and warned MPs that rejecting it would lead to “paralysis” that could see Britain stay in the bloc.

Explosion, gunfire at Nairobi hotel and office complex

A gunfight was underway following a blast at a hotel and office complex in a leafy Nairobi neighbourhood Tuesday, an AFP reporter and a witness said.
