Justice Maureen Onyetenu of the Federal High Court in Lagos Tuesday remanded a businessman, Chidi Nwanyanwu, in police custody for allegedly adulterating engine oil and inscribing forged Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON) logos on the product.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday arraigned Joseph Shittu, an illegal oil dealer, in a Federal High Court in Lagos over unlawful dealings in 800 metric tonnes of petroleum products.
The defendants- Anoruo Joseph; James Miracle; Louis Gbezeh; Tochukwu Nnagora; Nelson Umah; Sunday Ademoyege; Shittu Joseph, Afotan Ayene and Lukman Agberongbe- were arrested aboard a vessel, MT Omus, by officers of the Nigerian Navy and subsequently handed over to the EFCC for investigation and prosecution.
