ALSCON: BFI Group to reinstate $2.8 billion US suit against federal government

There are indications that the Federal Government may yet be engaged in another embarrassing legal battle involving BFI Group, which, newsmen gathered, has perfected plans to reinstate a $2.8 billion U.S. law suit over the activation of the Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) on the Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON), in Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State, to Dayson Holding/UC RUSAL against the Supreme Court’s judgment of July 6, 2012.
Mr. Haruna Momoh, a former managing director of the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company (PPMC), and his wife, Eileen have berated the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and accused it of mischief following its claim that it obtained an interim injunction to seize about N2.9 billion naira belonging to the couple. The ICPC said it traced the cash to bank accounts in Nigeria.
