The Nigerian Army has arrested a soldier and his girlfriend over alleged supply of food, weapons and uniforms to bandits in Zamfara State.
Nationwide outrage has greeted yesterday’s abduction of more than 300 school girls of Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe in Talata-Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara state by bandits even as aggrieved residents of the community took to the streets destroying vehicles entering the village in protest.
When gunmen raided the Government Girl’s Secondary School ,GGSS, Jangebe in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara state and abducted over 300 schoolgirls, a local vigilante, Abubakar Adamu, said he was together with soldiers that gave the bandits hot chase inside the bush.
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has promoted 11 officers and upgraded 122 others to various ranks and cadres in Zamfara.
