Barcelona legend and Al Sadd coach Xavi Hernandez spoke to TVE leading into the UEFA Nations League final featuring Spain and France. Mundo Deportivo have relayed the quotes from the interview, some of which deal with his future.

At the end of his interview, he was briefly asked to comment on his future and any possibility of him taking over at Camo Nou. To this, the midfield maestro responded with a quote that left the door wide open for any opportunity.

“Any offer will be valued and then decided. I don’t know where my future will take me, but I’m open to any possibility”, he said.

He continues his work in Qatar with Al Sadd, but it is well known that he would be ready to make a switch back to Catalonia if the offer arrives.

Yet, it remains to be seen if Joan Laporta is convinced by Xavi. Despite having him as an option, the Spaniard has stood firm on his stance of not being convinced by the former midfielder owing to his lack of experience with a European side.

However, some reports in recent days have also stated that Laporta is slowly opening up to the possibility of appointing Xavi. Moreover, some sources have said that the Barcelona president is also working on improving his relationship with the former player, which has been strained in recent weeks.

As for now, Ronald Koeman seems set to stay for his term. However, poor results in the coming games could change the situation and make Xavi’s arrival a real possibility.
