Wolves have confirmed that their defender Jonny has been ruled out for the rest of their Europa League campaign.

The 26-year-old suffered a cruciate ligament injury in his knee during the 1-0 win over Olympiakos on Thursday.

Wolves’ doctor Matt Perry issued a statement on the club’s website, stating: “In the first-half of the match with Olympiacos Jonny suffered an injury to his right knee.

“Yesterday a scan confirmed the first clinical impression of an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament which will require surgical repair.

“This has been arranged and the whole team wish Jonny well on his path to recovery.”

The wing-back is likely to be out for six months which means he could miss the first four months of the 2020/21 Premier League season.
