Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has revealed that the Daniel Akpeyi and Theophilus Afelokhai are to have their chances either half of the friendly game with The Cranes of Uganda today while Ikechukwu Ezenwa will have no part.
Rohr disclosed that he took the decision to allow the remaining two goalkeepers in the team for the current camping exercise to justify their inclusion and also stake a claim to future call-ups.
“We had a meeting this morning and I made it known that the two remaining goalkeepers: Daniel Akpeyi and Theophilus Afelokhai will have their chance against Uganda,” Rohr told journalists.
“We want to try as many as possible players we have in the team with this friendly game. We have the opportunity to substitute six players and we are going to utilise them all.”
The Franco-German also confirmed that the remaining NPFL player, Adeleye Aniyikaye will also feature against the Cranes.
The Eagles last played against Uganda in 2015 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo but were shocked by a lone goal.
