Taiwo Awoniyi subbed off as Bayern end Union Berlin’s unbeaten home run

Super Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, was in good form as he scored another goal for Union Berlin in their 1-1 draw against VfB Stuttgart in Sunday’s Bundesliga game.

Taiwo Awoniyi was in action but fired blanks as Bayern Munich defeated Union Berlin 5-2 in Saturday’s Bundesliga game.

The result means Bayern have ended Union Berlin’s 21-game unbeaten home run in the Bundesliga.

Awoniyi, who has been in fine goalscoring form, was replaced in the 64th minute.

It was his 10th league appearance for Union Berlin this season with seven goals to his name.

A brace from Robert Lewandowski and a goal each from Thomas Muller, Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sane, saw Bayern bounce back from the 5-0 humiliating defeat to Monchengladbach in the German Cup last week.

Bayern return to the top on 25 points while Union Berlin are in the sixth position on 16 points.
