Sevilla midfielder, Jesus Navas, has said they can be proud in defeat to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Super Cup.
Navas was pleased with Sevilla’s attitude in their UEFA Super Cup defeat to Bayern Munich in Budapest.
Julen Lopetegui’s side competed with the Champions League holders throughout the match, taking the game to extra time.
“It’s a shame,” Navas said at full time.
“The team fought, work hard.
“The attitude was good.
“They had chances in the second half [but] we kept trying.
“It wasn’t to be.”
Youssef En-Nesyri was denied twice by Manuel Neuer either side of the end of normal time as Sevilla squandered chances to win the game.
“We have to pick ourselves up,” Navas continued.
“It wasn’t to be.
“The team had its chances.
“We weren’t able to get that [winning] goal and they made the most of the chance they had.”
