Villarreal of Spain sensation Samuel Chukwueze says he’s delighted to be invited to the National team for the 2019 AFCON qualifier clash with South Africa and hope he make his debut on Saturday.
The 19-year-old has been in excellent form for his Spanish club in recent weeks, including scoring his first la Liga goal in his team’s 2-2 draw with Rayo Vallecano last weekend.
The former U17 World Cup winner linked up with senior National team for the first time on Tuesday and has impressed Coach Gernot Rohr with his sharpness in the team first training session.
“I’m so happy to be invited to the Super Eagles and I’m hoping to have a chance to play against South Africa,” Chukwueze stated in a short video posted on official Twitter handle of the Super Eagles.
“I hope our fans will come out to support us fully so that we have the ticket to the Nations Cup next year.”
The Super Eagles will jet out of the country today (Thursday) to keep a date with their South Africans counterparts for the 2019 AFCON qualifier Group E top of the table clash this weekend.
