Villarreal youngster Samuel Chukwueze will make his Super Eagles debut in today’s friendly against Uganda in Asaba just as Gernot Rohr has reverted to his usual 4-2-3-1 formation.
Chukwueze, 19, was on the bench for Saturday’s 2019 AFCON qualifier in Johannesburg against South Africa.
The left winger has scored in both La Liga and Cope del Rey for Villarreal since he was promoted from the second team this season.
Chukwueze will re-enact his superb partnership with Victor Osimhen at the U17 level in Rohr’s preferred 4-2-3-1 formation.
Otherwise, Gernot Rohr has kept faith with the core of the team who held Bafana Bafana to a 1-1 draw at the weekend – skipper Ahmed Musa, Alex Iwobi, John Ogu, Jamilu Collins and Etebo Oghenekaro.
Eagles 4-2-3-1 – Daniel Akpeyi – Jamilu Collins, Bryan Idowu, John Ogu, Semi Ajayi – Mikel Agu, Oghenekaro Etebo – Alex Iwobi, Ahmed Musa, Samuel Chukwueze – Victor Osimhen
