Wolves star Rúben Neves has been in the headlines for quite some time now as the subject of a potential big-money move to Premier League giants Manchester United and Liverpool.
The 23-year-old has been touted as an alternative for Jadon Sancho at United, while Liverpool could use him as either a rotational option for Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah or a replacement should Liverpool sell either of them in the upcoming window.
With Wolves on the verge of Champions League qualification, the Portugal international didn’t exactly deny the speculation but revealed his delight over his Wolves journey so far.
“There is always speculation,” Neves said. “Since I’ve been here, there’s always been speculation about our team.
“It’s something normal in football. It’s normal stuff for us.
“We don’t think about that, we just think about playing and training.
“Of course, we want to be together for the most time we can. But it’s football. The speculation is there, our job is to play.
“Fortunately, it (coming to Wolves) was a very good decision for me – for my career and for my family.
“I’m really happy here. My family is really happy here as well. So, it was a great decision.
“It was a difficult one but at the end, it resulted really well for me and, like I said, I’m really happy. I just want to keep on going and help the club.”
Neves has made the fifth-most appearances for Wolves this term, featuring 43 times for a total of 3,292 minutes on the pitch.
