And, Mundo Deportivo has now come up with a fresh set of names that Barca president Joan Laporta admires. The report states that the Catalan club supremo is an admirer of German coaches, having seen Jurgen Klopp, Hansi Flick and Thomas Tuchel lift the last three UEFA Champions League trophies.

With the future of Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman under clouds of uncertainty, speculations of candidates to replace the Dutchman at Camp Nou have been dominating the headlines of late.

From Xavi Hernandez to Roberto Martinez, from Andrea Pirlo to Joachim Low and even left-of-the-field choices like Marcelo Gallardo and Juan Manuel Lillo have all been mentioned as potential replacements for the Dutchman.

In fact, Laporta is said to have followed Klopp very closely throughout his career, while he is also said to be a huge admirer of Tuchel. Indeed, it is claimed that the Barcelona president has admitted in private circles that the current Chelsea boss is his favourite manager because of his tactical knowledge, attention to detail and ability to get the best out of players.

And, as per the report, Laporta could potentially make a play to appoint Tuchel as the manager of Barcelona next year. The German head coach took over at Chelsea only in January earlier this year and has a contract that runs till the summer of 2024.

Laporta is now said to be considering bringing in Ralf Rangnick, who is someone that the likes of Klopp and Tuchel consider as a mentor, as manager till the end of the season before roping in Tuchel at the end of the ongoing season.

Rangnick is currently the Director of Football at Russian club Lokomotiv Moscow but has plenty of managerial experience under his belt. However, the 63-year-old demands control over a lot of things at whichever club he goes to, which could be an issue for Barcelona.

While there are several other possibilities under consideration, this is another path that Laporta seems keen to explore – bring in Rangnick as the bridge from now until the end of the season and then replace him with Tuchel.
