Torino defender Ola Aina is thrilled to have scored his first goal for the club in Sunday’s 1-0 win over Udinese in the Italian Serie A.
The 22 year old Nigerian powered in a header in the 31st minute to hand his side a crucial win.
Remarkably, his Nigeria teammate, William Troost-Ekong was in action for Udinese and was closely marking when the loanee defender from Chelsea connected home his header.
Aina tweeted: “FirstGoal ➕ three points! ⚽️🙏🏿. Team effort to secure the win 💯. Good linking up with the bro @WTroostEkong . #MrLulu.
Meanwhile, Torino are locked in talks with Chelsea about a permanent deal for Aina who has made 20 starts in 23 Serie A appearances since he arrived on loan at the start of the season.
A fee of €10m has been mooted for Aina with the defender open to extending his stay in Italy beyond the end of this season.
Aina is expected to be named in Nigeria’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier qualifier against Seychelles on the 23rd of March in Asaba, Delta State.
