Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi is set to quit Turkish Super Lig Denizlispor for Serbian Champions Red Star Belgrade after six months.
The 27-year-old Nigeria international has struggled to hit top form since moving to Denizlispor from Trabzonspor in January and the Jos-born ace has only made six appearances for the club, no thanks to persistent injuries.
According to former Super Eagles media officer and present ESPN journalist, Colin Udoh, who disclosed this on his verified Twitter handle that Onazi is advance talk with Red Star Belgrade over a possible transfer.
If the deal when through Onazi will get the chance to play in the UEFA Champions League next season following Red Star’s title victory in Serbia’s top division.
The Red-Whites defended their Super Liga title successfully, finishing 14 points clear of Partizan Belgrade.
Onazi started his career with NPFL side El Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri before he sojourned to Europe to joined Lazio and Trabzonspor from where he moves his current team Denizlispor.
