Nigerian descent Calvin Bassey has reacted after making a full debut in Rangers 5-1 big win over Motherwell at Fir Park on Sunday.

The 20-year-old defender joins Steven Gerrard’s men to provide back-up for first-choice left-back, Borna Barisic.

Bassey made his second appearances for Rangers in the Scottish Premiership with braces from James Tavernier and Cedric Itten plus Jordan Jones’ strike helped Rangers secure their seventh league win of the season.


The Italy-born took his social media to celebrate his first senior start.

Meanwhile, Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr was handed a fitness boost ahead of the upcoming friendlies against Algeria and Tunisia, with Leon Balogun playing his first game for Rangers since August 12.
