Manchester United have announced that Raphaël Varane is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up an injury on international duty.
The Frenchman was forced off in the first half of his side’s Nations League final win over France.
He returned to Carrington on Tuesday and underwent tests on the issue.
“He has sustained a groin muscle injury and has commenced rehabilitation with the club,” read a brief statement from United. “He will be out for a few weeks.”
Their upcoming fixture list sees Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side face Leicester City, Atalanta, Liverpool and Tottenham – all difficult fixtures which he could miss.
