Manchester United is on the verge of signing Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish this summer as the Old Trafford giants aim to strengthen their midfielder options.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants a replacement for Angel Gomes who is set to quit the Red Devils this summer after the midfielder failed to extend his contract, with his current deal expiring on the 30th of June.
The report in the independent claimed that Chelsea had offered a contract to Gomes, while other big clubs around Europe are also interested in the highly-rated 19-year-old and the report in the Daily Express claim that Manchester United is on the verge of signing £80million-rated Villa attacking midfielder Grealish as Gomes’ replacement.
Grealish is prepared to make a move to Manchester United and he is proven player in the Premier League and he would add more depth to the team.
Grealish, 24, would be an upgrade on under-performing players like Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard in the attacking midfield.
Chelsea could be a likely destination for Gomes following the trust Blues manager Frank Lampard has in youngsters this season.
