El Kanemi coach Imama Amapakabo’s car a personal gift – Governor Shettima

The brand-new car given to new El Kanemi coach Imama Amapakabo is a personal gift from the Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima, officials have clarified.

“The Governor clearly pronounced the car is a personal gift from him and the coach could drive it home from Maiduguri to his hometown in Okrika in Rivers State,” El Kanemi Warriors spokesman Tony Obaseki said

“The Governor has even directed that the car papers be handed to the coach.”

Obaseki said the gift was a pleasant surprise even to the club management.

“No one was aware that the Governor will give the coach a car, so we were all taken aback by his generosity,” he said.

“The Governor is happy that Imama has left his comfort zone to come to a place where normalcy is only returning to.”

Ironically, Imama’s former employers Enugu Rangers had caused the coach to be arrested by police over the official car in his possession.

Imama and his assistants are currently quartered in the Governor’s Lodge.
