Equatorial Guinea’s Jean-Paul Mpila has stated that his team will make life difficult for the Super Falcons of Nigeria in their AWCON 2018 Group B encounter at the Robert Mensah Stadium, Cape Coast on Saturday.
Mpila‘s charges are already eliminated from the 2018 African Women’s Nations Cup after defeats to the Shepolopolo of Zambia and Banyana Banyana of South Africa in their first two games of the tournament.
And ahead of the game, the gaffer boasts that his charges will give the Super Falcons a run for their money and possibly pick their first win of the tournament.
“I can boldly say we are out of the tournament, but concerning tomorrow’s fixture against Nigeria, we are going to honour it. We will give our best until the last blast of the whistle. So we are preparing for the match,” Mpila stated during his interaction with the media on Friday.
The Super Falcons are looking to build on their impressive win against Zambia on Wednesday when they face the Nzalang Nacional.
The defending champions need to win the game to be sure of a place in the semi-finals.
Group leaders, South Africa will face Zambia in the other Group B fixture in Accra also on Saturday.
The Banyana Banyana top the group with six points, while Nigeria and Zambia occupy second and third positions respectively with three points apiece. Equatorial Guinea are without a point.
The top three teams in the tournament will represent the continent at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
