Abia Warriors captain and long-serving defender Austin Obaroakpo has stated that the appointment of coach Imama Amapakabo as coach of the Nigeria Professional Football League side will improve the fortunes of the NPFL side.

Obaroakpo said the signing of the new coach will hand a new challenge to everyone in the team with a league winner coming to oversee the affair of the team.

He added that the only way for the team from this point is forward and believes Imama is the coach to spearhead this positive change in fortunes.

“Definitely I believe it will improve the team and the players as well even the management because the ambition is huge. He’s one of those coaches that normally likes challenges and I believe that he will succeed. Yea definitely Imama to Abia warriors is a huge development and is a challenge to the team as well.

For me it’s a blessing to the team because honestly having a good coach like Imama and a league winner for that matter, I believe it will definitely help the team.”
