Former captain Ifeanyi Anaemena has expressed his gratitude to the supporters and management of Enyimba international for how he was treated at the club and wish them all the best in the future.
Anaemena ended his six-year association with the two time CAF Champions League winners after completing his move to Rivers United last week.
The 28-year-old joined the People’s Elephant from defunct Giwa FC and went on to captained the club their eighth record Nigeria professional football league title back in 2018.
In his farewell letter to the club’s management and supporters, The Super Eagles invitee said he’s grateful for the opportunity to represent the club.
He maintained that playing for the Fatai Osho’s tutored side remains the high point of his career and he will carry the team in his heart always.
“As you all might have heard in the news, my very successful six years sojourn to Aba, home of the People’s Elephant is over.
“I have agreed on a move to our neighbors Rivers United after a glorious time with Enyimba.”
“I am penning this note to thank you guys for all you have been to me during my time with Enyimba, one of the greatest clubs in the country.
“You made me one of your own with great support and constant adulation, Playing in front of the ever passionate Enyimba faithful was the biggest point of my career so far.
“I will also not forget the club Administrators, we may have had our differences in the end but I still cherish my experience with you.
“I leave the club without any form of hatred or bitterness and I must thank you for making sure all my entitlements were never denied me. I appreciate that.”
“I have started another chapter of my life of which I remain hopeful of more successes.”
“Our paths will surely cross more in the future and all I wish you all is the best and nothing but the best.” He wrote on his social media handle.
