Glen Johnson: Chelsea should not re-sign Romelu Lukaku

Inter Milan president Steven Zhang has vowed not to let Romelu Lukaku leave the club this summer.

Former Chelsea fullback, Glen Johnson, has urged Inter Milan striker, Romelu Lukaku, not to return to Stamford Bridge.

The 28-year-old is closing in on a £98million return to England from Inter Milan, with the Italian side looking to ease their financial woes.

Johnson, speaking to, is not convinced Lukaku will be able to bring that Serie A form to England.

“I’m not so sure the Premier League suits Lukaku to be honest,” Johnson said.

“Obviously he’s a big, powerful lad, quite physical but I just think the Premier League’s a bit too quick for him.

“So no, I wouldn’t like to see him return. But in certain leagues, he is going to get goals, albeit at a slightly slower pace.”
