Enyimba goalkeeper Theophilus Afelokhai has said he is excited to return to the Super Eagles after he was first called up three years ago.
Afelokhai was a last-minute replacement for injured Francis Uzoho on the back of his superlative displays for Enyimba in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup.
“I have been doing well at my club, but God said this is the right time for me to return to the Super Eagles,” Afelokhai said.
“I believe it’s my destiny, no man can change what God has destined for me.”
He has therefore dedicated his call-up to God and his family.
He described the Super Eagles training camp is one big, happy family.
“We are just one big family and many of the players we have been together previously. We are all moving in one direction now,” he said.
Interestingly, his first call-up in 2015 was also for the games against South Africa and Uganda.
