David Beckham’s Inter Miami squad is still lacking the international icon that many expected and it’s been widely reported that the Manchester United icon has been probing LaLiga for their final Designated Player.
Beckham has reportedly spoken to Luka Modrić, Arturo Vidal, and James Rodríguez over a potential switch and now reports out of Spain are now claiming that Beckham has been in contact with Atlético Madrid’s Diego Costa.
However, talks between Beckham and the 31-year-old came to a screeching halt due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Costa has only scored twice this year and with just one year left on his contract, Atlético will be desperate to recoup as much of the £57m fee as possible, however, it’s doubtful they will be able to make a significant dent into the enormous sum.
More importantly for Atlético, they will be looking to take his believed £150,000-a-week wages off the books.
