Gareth Southgate has handed Crystal Palace midfielder Conor Gallagher a first England call up for their final World Cup qualifier in San Marino on Monday.

Gareth Southgate has handed Crystal Palace midfielder Conor Gallagher a first England call up for their final World Cup qualifier in San Marino on Monday.

The midfielder has been in extremely impressive form this season at Selhurst Park on loan from Chelsea and has been rewarded with his first taste of the Three Lions senior set-up.

However, while Gallagher comes into the fray, England have also announced that five players have left the camp ahead of the final game.

Jack Grealish, Jordan Henderson, Raheem Sterling, Mason Mount and Luke Shaw have all returned to their respective clubs.

Mount and Shaw had been struggling with their health after being called up due to dental surgery for the Chelsea man and concussion for the Manchester United defender.

Grealish and Henderson have departed for further assessment on injuries by their clubs’ medical departments, while Sterling leaves the camp due to a personal issue.

England will train at Tottenham’s training ground on Sunday before departing for San Marino later today.
