While using the Super Eagles’ recent capitulation against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone, when the Nigeria side gave up a 4-0 lead in their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, and settled for a 4-4 draw.Obasi, who became the first Nigerian to play at all levels of FIFA’s major global competitions when he starred for the Super Eagles at South Africa 2010 World Cup – having previously starred at the Under-17 version in 2003, Under-20 in 2005 and Olympic Games (U23) in 2008 – conceded that 2020 has not been the best for the squad in a sport radio programme monitored in Lagos.

The 34-year-old former Lyn Oslo of Norway, TSG Hoffenheim and Schalke 04 of Germany as well as AIK of Sweden star, however advised coach, Gernot Rohr to strengthen the team with well-exposed and experienced players.
