Turkish Super Lig club Alanyaspor have announced the signing of Nigeria defender Chidozie Awaziem on a season-long loan deal from Boavista.

The Nigeria international only joined Boavista on a permanent deal from Portuguese giants FC Porto this summer after spending the 2020/21 campaign on loan at the club.

Awaziem featured in Boavista’s three league matches this season prior to the move.

The 24-year-old was also in action in Nigeria’s 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde on Tuesday.

“Boavista FC informs that it has reached an agreement with Alanyaspor from Turkey for the temporary transfer of the player, Chidozie Awaziem, valid until the end of the 2021-22 season,” read a statement on the club’s website.

“Boavista FC wishes Chidozie Awaziem all the best personal and professional happiness in this new stage of his career. Good luck, Chidozie.”

Awaziem could make his debut for Alanyaspor when they host Giresunspor in a Turkish Super Lig game on Monday.

They are currently in the 13th position on the table.
