No automatic shirt for Neymar – PSG coach

Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery said on Saturday he does not want super signing Neymar to feel he has automatic shirt at the club.

He said he wants to keep his top players to give Neymar competition for a starting berth in the team.

Emery said he wants the likes of Angel Di Maria and German Julian Draxler to stay and push Neymar for a starting berth.

He told reporters after Saturday’s game, “We need competition for Neymar. We need players who will give competition for Neymar’s position.

“Draxler can play on the left, right and in the middle. Pastore can play on the left, right and in the middle.

“The signing of players like Neymar, but also the work done on the academy shows the work we’re doing to improve the club.

“Everything the club does after discussions with me is because we think it’s better. Everything we’re going to do (including possible sales) is good.”
