Stanley Dimgba kept his feet on the pedals of his fine scoring form, controlling Cyril Olisema’s chipped pass to send in a low strike and give Enyimba the lead four minutes before the interval. Three minutes later, youngster Anayo Iwuala spearheaded a swift break to set up Victor Mbaoma, who picked his spot from the edge of the box, handing Fatai Osho’s side a two-goal lead at the break.

Austin Oladapo has hinted that Enyimba is a work in progress but believes the team will ready for CAF Champions League qualifiers.

Enyimba were paired against FC Rahimo in the opening round of the African elite football competition.

The first-leg of the fixture is billed for Burkina Faso and according to Oladapo, the Aba Elephants are already working on strategy for the game

“I think we are still work in progress but with the performance of the team I think I’m pleased however, there are still some certain areas we need to work on before we travel to Burkina Faso.”

“I think we are super ready for the encounter with the team from Burkina Faso. “

The midfielder said he is pleased with the quality of their pre-season matches so far.

“This preseason has really helped us a lot and I think we are still going to play a couple of matches with some top teams to prepare us more before we leave.

“The new players have settled in and we have a very young squad and with zeal and passion for winning every game as it comes.”

The two-time Africa Champions will play Rahimo FC on November 29 in Burkina Faso.
