Katsina United head coach Abdullahi Biffo has pointed out that the acquisition of Sheriff Bashir is expected to add new innovations to his team’s attack ahead of hostilities in the 2018-19 season.
Bashir joined Katsina United from Abia Warriors on a free transfer after running down his contract with the Umuahia side and after he completed his switch a few days ago Biffo has decided to open up on the same player he worked with while with Abia Warriors two seasons ago.
“I am happy that Sheriff has joined us after his contract with Abia Warriors ended. It was not an easy task to get him because other teams also showed interest in him,” Biffo told Goal.
“It was not difficult convincing my club management about him because he is a player I have worked with before and I know what he can offer me from what he did with Abia Warriors when I was with the team and last season also.
“He will improve our squad and will give us another dimension going forward. We will still look at a few others to improve our team the more. We know what we want and we are going for it.”
The player in a chat with the club media expressed his delight at his move to an ambitious Katsina United side and that he would ensure he contributes his quota to ensure that team win trophy this season.
“I think this is another turning point in my career and I am happy to move to an ambitious club like Katsina United,” he said.
“I will contribute my quota to ensure that Katsina United win a major trophy this season. Yes, I enjoyed my stay at Abia Warriors. The fans and the entire people of Umuahia are wonderful and very passionate about the team. I will always appreciate the love and care they showed me during my time at the club.”
