Kaduna election: SIECOM asked to conclude election in Kachia

The Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM) has postponed the local government elections earlier scheduled for May 15, 2021.

A chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Dr Abdulmalik Mohammed Durunguwa, has urged the Kaduna State Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM) to conduct an election in the remaining polling units in Kachia LGA of the state.

Durunguwa, a Federal Commissioner of the National Population Commission (NPC), said the appeal was made in order to allow citizens to exercise their civic rights.

The chairman of the commission, Saratu Dikko-Audu, had on Friday, declared the election of four LGAs inconclusive. The election was conducted on September 4.

Addressing newsmen, Durunguwa, an indigene of Kachia, urged the commission to conduct elections in all the affected wards so as not to disenfranchise the people.
