Less than three days the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta State flagged off its campaign, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has described the event as a jamboree.
Chief Great Ogboru, APC governorship candidate in the state, has said the party will defeat the PDP in this year’s general election, especially in Delta State, who was speaking at the Chief Itsekor-led Uvwie Reconciliation Committee meeting in Effurun, said the liberation team of the APC led by President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osibanjo, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, national chairman of the party, and other leaders of the party will soon visit the state to join him in liberating Deltans from the PDP.
While apologizing and appealing to aggrieved leaders, elders and stakeholders in the Uvwie Local Government chapter of the party over the outcome of the party primaries, he urged them to put their grievances behind, unite and work towards the victory of the party.
He said, “The people of Delta State are tired of the bad government of PDP in the past 18 years.”
And if we don’t do this, the collateral damage will be too much for us to bear and we are going to pay dearly for it. Hope may be lost but we have come to give you hope and encouragement”
While asking Uvwie APC aggrieved members to sheath their sword, he disclosed that those who were with him right from time know how they organised their primaries either as a consensus or through popular majority vote.
He added that the leadership problem affecting the state chapter of the party was over, explaining that many things might have happened at that time when some persons resorted to self-help and so on but “that chapter in our party is over.”
