Great Ogboru

Great Ovedje Ogboru, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Delta State, said he is in the gubernatorial race to address the ills and failed policies of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led administration in the state.

Ogboru also boasted that the February 16 and March 2 general elections have already been won by the APC following the massive support the party enjoys across the state.

He made this statement at the weekend when its governorship campaign train moved to Uvwie and Ughelli-North Local government areas and was greeted by thousands of market women in Ughelli shouting in solidarity.

According to Ogboru: “Freedom comes only by struggle. Therefore, we have won the election the forthcoming elections already. President Muhammadu Buhari, Senator Omo-Agege and all our candidates have won. So, I thank all of you for coming in your large number. It shows that Uvwie and Ughelli North is 100 percent APC.

“We shall re-address some of the failed PDP-led government policy and will change them for better performance.

“As from May 29, all elements of gangsterism will stop in Delta, because there will be no room for lawlessness.

“I want assure you that no one will be left out in this new government, which I will head.

“Uvwie people, by your support, you have shown that you want a new government of light. That is why you want to change this failed PDP government; therefore, you must give us ‘five over five’ by voting for all APC candidates.”

Addressing APC supporters at Ughelli Stadium, Acting Executive Director, Project, Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Samuel Adjogbe, charged Deltans to vote overwhelming for APC to enable President Buhari continue to deliver dividend of democracy to Niger Deltans.

He noted that NDDC was able to achieve so much within a short time because the president gave them free hand and funded the agency adequately.

Also speaking, the two APC leaders in Uvwie chapter of the party, Veronica Ogbuagu and Henry Baro, who spoke on behalf of the supporters in their separate statements, urged every Uwvie sons, daughters and residents to support Ogboru, President Buhari and all APC candidates in order to change the future of their unborn children, as well as get access to good health, free education, job opportunities and many more.

The duo added that Deltans are tired of the PDP government’s failure, which rules with impunity and turning Uvwie to a dirty environment with sub-standard roads. They added that this time, everything will turn around for victory and the good of all Deltans.
