The Enugu State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, screened and confirmed the two commissioner-nominees sent to it by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.
The confirmation of the nominees was announced by the speaker, Hon Edward Uchenna Ubosi, after their screening during the plenary session at the chamber.
The two nominees screened are Eucharia Uchenna from Igboetiti and Prince Chukwuemeka John Mamah from Igoeze Local Goverment Areas respectively.
The speaker charged the aspiring State Executive Council (SEC) members to contribute their wealth of experience to the development of the state when inaugurated as member of the SEC.
He described the nominees as experienced people, noting, “Prince Mamah served as Special Adviser on Transportation during the previous administration from 2010 to 2011 while Eucharia Uchenna served for three years as Commissioner for Finance with the present administration of Governor Ugwuanyi and both of them performed to expectation of the people.
“I want to urge you to demonstrate more commitment and hard work in discharging your duties if inaugurated for the development of Enugu State.
It was learnt that Uchenna resigned her appointment as Commissioner for Finance to contest for House of Representative to represent Igboetiti Federal Constituency but lost while Prince Mamah also contested for House of Representative to represent Igboeze North/Udenu Federal Constituency but also lost.
