Mathias Ameke, the Anambra State chairman of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), has accused the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) , the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of allegedly stockpiling money for vote buying in Anambra West Local Government Area of the state .

Ameke, who spoke with journalists on Monday in Awka, said that APGA, APC and PDP were purportedly gathering money for the forthcoming general elections, noting that on January 29, 2019, APGA allegedly came to Umueze-anam in Anambra West and about one million naira was given out to Oru axis of the council.

The ADP state chairman who also doubles as the flag-bearer of the ADP for Anambra West State Assembly elections , further alleged that about five hundred thousand naira was given out in his own town Mmiata Anam by APGA, stressing that when such amount of money was given out, it only portends election rigging through Vote-buying .

According to him, “the big political parties were assembling cash for the elections which they know belonged to the people’s commonwealth.

He, therefore, maintained that his political party does not have money to share but emphasised that the ADP was poised to sell the party’s manifesto to the electorate to elicit their votes during the elections.

In another development, the state chairman of the APC in Anambra, Basil Ejidike, debunked allegations of vote-buying leveled against his party, saying that APC could never be involved in vote-buying as well as other forms of electoral irregularities.

Ejidike emphasised that the primary concern of the APC-led federal government was the conduct of a free, fair and credible elections for the Nigerian nation and there won’t be anything like violence and thuggery.

The Anambra APC boss, however, reemphasised that every well-meaning Nigerian condemns the act of vote-selling and Vote-buying.

He advised that people should campaign vigorously to convince the electorate on why they should be voted into public offices while assuring them of their competences and capabilities to take custody of their collective mandate.
