Dr. Mohammad Ali Pate, the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) governorship candidate in the 2019 elections in Bauchi State, has promised to provide employment for youths and fight poverty by increasing household income, if elected.
He also said he plans to establish a ministry for job creation that will recruit unemployed youths and women into the various organs of government.
Pate, who disclosed this in a letter to the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Bauchi, while announcing his campaign launch, promised to improve the stste’s Internally Generate Revenue (IGR) by revitalising ailing industries.
Pate, who named his running mate as Barrister Ahmed Faruk Gwadabe, said if elected, he would promote small and large-scale investments, create industrial parks in each zone of the state, hubs in each Local Government Areas, while transforming the state’s social welfare, education and health system to be the best in the country.
He also promised to increase basic minimum wage within the state’s fiscal envelope, commence defraying backlog of pensioner and civil servants’ entitlements, as well as conduct elections into the Local Government Councils in the state.
