Critical stakeholders in Nasarawa State’s All Progressives Congress (APC) have adopted a consensus arrangement to elect new leaders for the party in the state.

It was gathered that delegates across the local government areas of the state had started assembling in Lafia Square for the exercise.

Newsmen report that the 2021 APC state congresses are holding across the 36 states of the country and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

Newsmen, who went around the state, learnt that security has been beefed up in and around Lafia, the state capital, to maintain law and order during and after the congress.

Security operatives were seen stationed at the Lafia-Jos and Lafia-Makurdi roads to prevent any breakdown of law and order.

The congress was yet to commence as entry into Lafia Square, the venue of the congress in the state, is restricted to only accredited delegates who will participate in the election of new officials of the party.
