A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Ayodele Kusamotu, has berated his party leadership for its nonchalant attitude towards restructuring.
In a statement he signed and issued on Wednesday in Lagos, Kusamotu urged the party’s hierarchy not to take Nigerians for granted, noting that the restructuring of Nigeria was the wish of the people.
He said, “I am of the opinion that my party, the APC is not serious about the burning issue of restructuring. Unfortunately, it is on the lips of all and sundry. This fact alone should compel the party to treat the matter seriously and not with levity. They should go back to the drawing board and come out with a white paper that will assuage the minds of Nigerians especially now that 2019 is around the corner.”
He added that the clamour for the country to be restructured was an issue that many members of the party had always called for.
Kusamotu urged the party to gauge the pulse of the people to avoid losing the goodwill and sympathy it enjoyed in the last general elections.
He said, “The Nigerian voter is a sensitive one. He or she knows what he wants. They know that restructuring will improve their lots in life, hence I am strongly appealing to my party leadership not to take the people for granted or else, it will lose its goodwill and sympathy.”
