The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has debunked claims of adoption of gubernatorial candidate with the All Progressive Congress of Adamawa State which was said to have been speculated by one Alhaji Ahmadu Mubi Seriki who was described by the SDP as “self-appointed spokesman for a non-existent coalition of political party in the state” that SDP and APC have declared the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP as its unity candidate.
Chairman of the SDP in Adamawa, Mr John Muva, made this known in a press statement adding that there is no truth in that claim and whatsoever.
“I emphatically state that there is no truth in that claim and media report. If anything of that magnitude were to happen, then I would have been part of the meetings and negotiations that will give vent to the alleged declaration. I did not participate in any negotiation with any party in the state nor did SDP”.
According to the press statement, Mr. Muva has described the claim which was peddled in the media as a “figment of the wicked imagination of some mercenaries working for the opposition party to divert attention from rising profile of the party and its governorship candidate Chief Emmanuel Bello, for the 2019 general election”.
He categorically stated that SDP has no plan of joining any party in the upcoming 2019 general elections and its candidate, Bello have already encompass a ward to ward consultation across the state ahead of the campaign.
Mr, Muva have therefore urged all SDP members and supporters to disregard the unfolded, fictitious and malicious publication and claim as a desperate move by rejected politicians and parties in the state to cause confusion amongst them.
