Spokesman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, has lashed out at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), over recent comment that President Muhammadu Buhari wants to be the sole candidate in the 2019 presidential election.
Abdullahi said the claim “makes no sense” and should be ignored.
According to him, such claim is not in tune with the principle of democracy “on which our party (APC) is built”.
“The accusation that President Buhari wants to be a sole candidate does not even make sense,” he said.
“It is presumptuous and inconsistent with the principle of internal democracy on which our party is built.
“But expecting the PDP to understand internal democracy would be asking for too much.”
