Twelve of the 17 political party gubernatorial candidates in Katsina State have pledged to support the re-election bid of Governor Aminu Bello Masari in the coming election.
Alhaji Musa Usman Wamba Funtua, the state chairman Intra-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), announced the endorsement of Masari in Katsina.
Wamba also added that, 55 out of 72 political parties with offices in state have endorsed the candidature of President Muhammad Buhari for second term in office.
Alhaji Lawal Abubakar Bagiwa, one of the gubernatorial candidates, speaking on behalf of the other candidates, said they stepped down because they were convinced that Masari was the best candidate to lead the state to the next level.
He assured that they would pull their resources and work to ensure victory for all APC candidates in state.
Alhaji Shitu Shitu, the state APC chairman in a remark, assured that they would be treated justly by the governor’s administration in the next dispensation.
He, however, hoped that the remaining gubernatorial candidates would also throw in the towel before the election on March 2.
