Yuletide: Cleric urges Nigerians to remember the needy

Pastor Festus Olusanya of Miracle Church of Christ, Kilanko, Kwara, has urged Nigerians to remember the poor and the needy as they prepare to celebrate the Christmas.

Olusanya made the call in Ilorin on Thursday.

He urged Christians to ensure that they put a smile on the faces of the less privileged during the celebration.

He said that every Christian must remember the needy around him by extending the love of the season to them.

“We must demonstrate the love of Christ by reaching out to the needy around us and we will see what God will do in return.

“It is a well known fact that the birth of Jesus Christ is what we are celebrating every Dec. 25; Jesus loves cheerful givers and never wants anyone to lack.

“Every Christian is expected to share with the needy by giving out gift items like food, money, clothes and anything worth giving out to make them feel a sense of belonging.

“A good Christian must not be selfish, remember the poor ones and give out to them for Christ to bless you the more,” he said.
