Senator Kalu lauded for distributing educational materials to Abia North students

The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said it was ready for fresh and immediate re-trial of the former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu.

The Chief Whip of the Senate and senator representing Abia North Senatorial zone, Orji Uzor Kalu, on Tuesday distributed educational materials in the primary and secondary schools of Abia North senatorial zone, Abia State.

Stakeholders in the zone, including Hon. Steve Anagha of Ohafia Local Government, described as ‘phenomenal’ the representation of Abia North in the Senate by Kalu in the last two years.

As part of his educational service to his zone, Kalu after renovating schools and providing seats has procured school bags and millions of textbooks on different subjects for all the primary and secondary school pupils and students in Abia North.

Anagha said that through Kalu’s exceptional works in Abia North, he had repeatedly shown other zones in Nigeria what senatorial representation looks like.

In his congratulatory message, Anagha thanked Kalu for flagging off the distribution on Tuesday, starting with Ohafia.

“Orji Uzor Kalu built many roads for us; gave us water; renovated our schools; gave our children employment; empowered several families, and today he is distributing school bags and textbooks to all the primary and secondary school students in government schools.

“His performance as our senator is only but phenomenal. We have never experienced such leadership and we are grateful and thankful to God.

“The last time we enjoyed such leadership in Abia was between 1999 and 2007 when Kalu was governor.

“We miss his years as governor when he instituted free education in all categories. Nobody paid school fees and we wish he can repeat that again.

“Despite being a senator for Abia North, we would love him to institute free education in the entire state,” Anagha said.
