Leader of Afenifere (Egbe Ilosiwaju Yoruba) Senator Ayo Fasanmi has hailed Southwest governors for their efforts to fight banditry and curb insecurity in the region.
Fasanmi noted that the governors are living up to the expectation of the people through collaborative efforts in tackling insecurity.
A statement by the group’s spokesman, Chief Biodun Akin-Fasae, reads: “The time is now for everyone to see insecurity as a collective problem which must be tackled without ethnic, religious and cultural colouration. The governors are admonished to work hard and free our forests from criminals who are now making life difficult for our people”.
The elder statesman also praised Chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Kayode Fayemi, for leading his colleagues to the President in Abuja to discuss the insecurity and attendant issues affecting the country, as well as Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu for his election as Chairman, Southwest Governors’ Forum.
