The Boko Haram insurgency in Northern Nigeria is largely fuelled by youth unemployment and poverty, Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, has said.

President Muhammadu Buhari will this Friday evening grant the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) an exclusive interview by 8.30 pm.

A statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, said the interview promises to be revealing and educating.

The statement advised all to “kindly keep a date.”

THEWILL recalls that since taking office on May 29, 2015, Buhari has only held one formal media chat with Nigerian journalists.

He granted an interview to the Nigerian local media during a Presidential Chat in 2015.

Although the President has sat for several open and frank Press interviews since coming to office, they have all been granted to foreign media.

However, in a very rare move, the President had on Thursday, granted an exclusive interview on The Morning Show on Arise TV, a Nigerian medium, owned by the Publisher of the THISDAY newspaper, Nduka obaigbena.
