Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu II, the Oluwo of Iwo in Osun State, has enjoined Nigerians, especially Christians, to emulate the spirit of love and unity as practised by Jesus Christ.
Oba Akanbi, in his Christmas message to the people, felicitated with Christians, describing Christianity as one of the primary vehicles of socialisation and modernisation in the world.
The monarch, who spoke through a statement released by his Press Secretary, Alli Ibraheem, called on religious leaders to serve as instrument and asset to improve human race.
Oluwo stated a religious, but ungodly nation would remain stagnat, imploring Nigerians to imbibe sportsmanship while relating with fellow.
He said most Nigerians were not sincere with Christmas celebration due to daily evil acts, especially ritual killings, which he said had been ravaging the nation.
Oluwo condemned heinous acts attributed to religious leaders and their faithful, calling on Federal Government’s legislation to curb social vices such as killing human sacrifice, raping, secret societies and other inhuman behaviour.
